Required Equipment

All equipment must be installed correctly, maintained in good working condition and approved before activation.

Weight distribution hitch

A chainless weight distribution and stabilization system is required for travel trailer transportation.

Chains are not accepted.

Some RV units require an external battery to operate the electric jack, brakes or other systems during pickup.

Full-width mud flaps

Full-Width Mud Flaps

Required for rear wheels

The truck must have full-width mud flaps installed to help protect the RV from rocks, debris and road damage.

Installation may be available locally in Elkhart, Indiana.
Fifth wheel hitch

Fifth Wheel Hitch

Minimum capacity: 16,000 lbs

Required for drivers who will transport fifth wheel RV units.

Driver Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Current DOT medical card
  • Must pass a drug test
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Experience towing trailers preferred
  • Ability to travel for multiple days
  • Professional communication
  • Ability to use a smartphone and transportation app

Vehicle Requirements

  • 2016 or newer pickup truck 2500 or 3500
  • Vehicle in good mechanical condition
  • Valid registration
  • Approved commercial insurance when applicable
  • Must pass an annual DOT inspection before the first load is assigned
  • Proper towing capacity
  • Working lights and brakes
  • Tires in safe condition
  • Safety triangles
  • Fire extinguisher
  • Required towing equipment installed

Driver Responsibility

Owner operators are responsible for safely transporting each RV, following inspection procedures and maintaining their truck and towing equipment.

Driver-caused damages with repair costs below $5,000 may be the responsibility of the driver according to the signed agreement and applicable claim review.
